Sunday Morning Cooking.
Good thing about living alone is that no one is going to wake you up in the morning. So, I got up to watching "Yes Man", which was an interesting movie.
Then, I ended up cooking. First I marinated chicken with my "Chicken Curry Paste", courtesy of Amazon. Then, I tried to make ghee, which was a disaster. First rule of making ghee, do not use spreadable butter. It doesn't even look like ghee.
Ghee (Recipe):
- Sticks of Butter
- Rice Cooker
Put in the rice cooker until it smells like ghee. Then stop it. I will tell you when mine works for the exact recipe.
Chicken Curry:
I made my chicken. It's good.
Ingredients:
- Kitchens of India Curry Paste (You can buy it on Amazon)
- Water
- Onions (chopped)
- Sour Cream
- Yogurt
Preparation:
1. Add 1 cup of water to the chicken paste
2. Add 1 lb of chicken (boneless and skinless) to the paste and mix it together
3. Add onions, sour cream, and yogurt to the mix
4. Marinate for 1/2 hour
5. Put the mix in the rice cooker and let it go for 1/2 hour
6. When you think the chicken is cooked, let it sit on warm setting
7. Serve with cilantro and Enjoy!
- Butter Chicken is still better.
- This paste is a bit spicy. So, add yogurt as needed.
Chilli Bean Pasta
Ingredients :
- Pasta (I used whole wheat spaghetti)
- Frozen Vegetables
- 1 can of Chilli (Pinto) beans
- Chicken
- Balsamic Vinegar (Optional)
- Defrost chicken
- Boil the pasta with the veggies
- Cut the chicken into small pieces. Add either butter or oil while heating the saucepan and cook the chicken. (I added some balsamic vinegar for some flavor)
- When both the pasta and chicken are done, mix them together along with the can of beans
....and your Chilli Bean Pasta is ready!
Bon Appetit!
